Newsletter 31 January 2016

Welcome

This is the first of what I hope will become a regular email newsletter about Scouting in the District.  I want to use it not just to pass information from County and HQ, but to highlight local news and events. and to share ideas for good Scouting in the District.  Please let me know what you think!

Thanks

Martin

Compass Update

Compass finally went live on Wednesday with adult data only.  Initial access is for a limited set of users (mainly Commissioners and Appointment Secretaries); further groups will be added in phases over the coming weeks until all adults have access.  The first job will be to ensure all records are up to date with a particular focus on training (Getting Started, first aid and safeguarding) and logging recently issued activity and nights away permits.

Training News

The County Training Team have updated the training calendar on the County Website.  Courses available include first aid as well as Adult Training Modules.  Two courses that may be of particular interest to members of Group Executives are theGSL and Executive Essentials course run by the Regional Development Service next Sunday at Horley, and the Executive Exploration day from our own County Team on 30th April.

And finally…

Don’t forget that Census numbers are due today!  If you have any problems with online forms, please contact Alan, Susie or me.
